Venyon receives MasterCard certification for Trusted Service Manager services

9 November 2009 - Venyon has completed the compliance process for the MasterCard Mobile Provisioning Security Requirements. As a result the Venyon data center in Munich, Germany is the first in Europe to receive MasterCard certification, enabling them to provide Trusted Service Manager (TSM) services for MasterCard issuers. Venyon provides Trusted Service Manager services for Visa Europe and Luottokunta

22 October 2009 - Visa Europe together with Luottokunta has made contactless payment available in Finland by launching a mobile payment trial utilizing Near Field Communication (NFC). Venyon’s role is a Trusted Service Manager (TSM) responsible for over the air service, which allows secure provisioning and life-cycle management of the Visa mobile payment application to mobile phones together with the cardholder information that is required to conduct secure transactions. Akbank and Turkcell in cooperation with MasterCard, Giesecke & Devrient, E-Kart and Venyon have started a mobile payment trial deploying NFC technology

20 August 2009 - Akbank, Turkey’s most valuable bank in terms of market capitalization, has released a mobile payment trial together with the leading mobile operator Turkcell. As part of the fast moving contactless payment deployment Akbank is testing MasterCard PayPass payment application with NFC-enabled mobile phones and SIM cards, which both support the Single Wire Protocol (SWP) standard. Venyon and Kasikornbank to cooperate on contactless mobile payments in Thailand

10 February 2009 - Venyon and Kasikornbank, a leading bank in Thailand announced today that they are cooperating to evaluate contactless mobile payments in Thailand for a potential service launch in future. As a first step, Kasikornbank recently announced its first Near Field Communication (NFC) mobile payment trial in Bangkok, Thailand. The trial will make it possible for Kasikornbank customers to walk into a store that accepts contactless payments and to purchase goods simply by waving a NFC mobile phone over the contactless reader at the point of sale. ING and MasterCard introduce Mobile Maestro PayPass in Romania

26 November 2008 - ING and MasterCard® Worldwide today announce the first program to offer ING Romanian clients a complete mobile payment package - the ability to set up payment capability, make transactions and feed their accounts - all using their mobile phone. The product is based on Maestro® PayPass™, a MasterCard contactless payment product designed for small purchases. The pilot contributes to the ING goal of making financial services easier for its customers. ING entered the Romanian retail banking market in 2004. SMART Pilots First Mobile Payment Project based on Near Field Communication Technology in the Philippines

18 November 2008 - Smart Communications, Inc. (SMART), the largest mobile network operator in the Philippines with over 34 million customers, has successfully launched the country’s first trial project enabling mobile phones for payment transactions using Near Field Communication or NFC, a short-range high frequency wireless communication technology which enables the exchange of data between two devices over a distance of a few centimeters from each other via a contactless interface. London's NFC trial has been a success

9 September 2008 - The prospect of using a mobile phone to make purchases or pay for travel took a step forward with the results from Europe’s largest trial of NFC technology on a mobile phone revealing clear consumer demand for such services.

Nine out of ten trialists were happy using NFC technology on a mobile phone and 78% said they would be interested in using contactless services if available. Convenience, ease-of-use and the status of having such an innovative device were seen as the main benefits. Read more»
