Venyon has joined NFC Forum

Venyon has been accepted a member to NFC forum as of March 2008. Formed in 2004 by NXP, Sony and Nokia in order to advance the use of Near Field Communication technology by educating the market about NFC technology, the Forum has grown to over 130 members.

The NFC Forum is leading the way to a world of secure universal commerce and connectivity. The Forum’s mission is to advance the use of Near Field Communication technology by developing standards-based specifications, ensuring interoperability among devices and services, encouraging development of products using NFC Forum specifications, and educating the market globally about NFC technology.

The Forum’s members are currently working on specifications for a modular NFC device architecture, and protocols for interoperable data exchange and device-independent service delivery, device discovery and device capability.

Venyon is Associate level member, which entitles us to contribute to work of Forum by joining in NFC Forum's Working Groups and Task Forces as well as attending to conference calls and face-to-face meetings. We see that through the NFC Forum work Venyon has great possibilities to collaborate with the rest of NFC ecosystem to define and plan how to deploy different applications over the air securely and user-friendly. This will be utmost crucial for commercial success of NFC.
