Venyon Receives MasterCard Certification for Trusted Service Manager Services

Helsinki, Finland, and Munich, Germany – Venyon announced today that it has completed the compliance process for the MasterCard Mobile Provisioning Security Requirements. As a result the Venyon data center in Munich, Germany is the first in Europe to receive MasterCard certification, enabling them to provide Trusted Service Manager (TSM) services for MasterCard issuers.

TSM services are essential to emerging Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, enabling short range contactless communication and equipping mobile phones with contactless payment applications. MasterCard certification allows Venyon to provide TSM services such as secure management and over-the-air application download, and personalization services to NFC-enabled mobile phones in commercial projects globally.

Since MasterCard TSM certification applies both to physical and logical security, it gives assurance to financial institutions that the confidentiality and integrity of payment data is protected according to MasterCard requirements during the whole management process from the banks’ back-end systems all the way to secure storage on the NFC phones of end-users.
